Akshata + Vik: An Indian Engagement

It’s NASCAR week in Kentucky and we have season tickets, so that means a lot of racing this weekend. We were at the Camping World truck race last night and what a race it was! A lot of action and excitement all around the track! I will have pictures of it all next week. We are going to the Nationwide race this evening and the Sprint Cup race tomorrow, but in between all that I am going to try and get a little more caught up on my blog posts.  I got so far behind when it broke last month :(

Indian-engagement

A couple of weeks ago I shot an Indian engagement ring exchange.  Akshata called early in the week and asked if I could shoot theceremony for them.  Of course I jumped at the chance. I always love being able to experience new cultures. The ring exchange occured at a beautiful home in Louisville.  Akshata and Vik were a great couple and really fun to work with. First we went into the backyard and shot a few portraits on the deck and along the edge of the woods.  The whole family was looking on and enjoying the moment. After that we went inside and they exchanged rings; becoming ”officially” engaged.  Apparantly Vik had actually popped the question about 3 months ago, so this was for family and friends. The ceremony was also broadcast to India via Skype, so it was an international event! Here are some of the pictures:
